The vintage era is my favorite era of fashion. Whenever I think of vintage, I think of all things glam and retro. Pin curls and bouffant, immaculate red lips and colorful clothes: Vintage era is and will be the most glamorous era in the history. Icons like Madonna and Cher ruled the roost; their fashion statement is talked about even today. And not only fashion, this era inspires me in every other way. The casual, happy-go-lucky vibes captured in the grainy vignette photographs intrigues me of the time we all want to replicate. The regal yet cheerful people bolstered by a booming economy, with their innocent love stories and romance melts my heart. And who can forget the entertainment industry? It was probably at its best! Call me old-fashioned, but I enjoy every aspect of the vintage world.

When it comes to vintage, the fashion was a defining element of the era. I interpret retro more than a sweeping generalization of bright colors, polka dots and bell bottoms. For me it is fitted, chic yet cheerful clothing representing the empowered women of that era. Marrying femininity with ease, I wanted to create a look which blends well with this era while giving some vintage chic vibes. Hence I chose this check black-and-white pencil skirt. Patterns were huge back in the days, so I felt like incorporating those in my outfit.

For my top, I chose this red crop top with a nice frill. Crop tops and frills originally belonged to the grand vintage era, so what’s better than adding those two elements together in my outfit! I chose the color red because it reminds me of the quintessential glamour of the retro era. Red is bright, bold and makes a statement wherever you go. To go with the outfit, I put my hair up with a red satin hair band and bold red lips. I finished the look with a pair of black sliders with buckle detailing on it to add that modern touch.

I love how everything turned out in this look. Including some vintage pieces with my modern, chic outfit came out to be a successful experiment. Vintage/retro fashion is often regarded as loud and crass, but for me it defines self-expression and art. I love the feel and vibes of the era, and will surely go back to this era for more style and fashion inspiration!

Hope you like this post.

Much love :*

What is the first thing that comes in mind when we think of summer? A rendezvous to nice golden beaches and blue sea or an escapade to high mountains and beautiful hill stations, right? But for me, summer means so much more than a vacation. It is the time to cherish the beauty of Nature.

The occasional relief of drizzle interspersed in between the days with unforgiving Sun, followed by the cool summer breeze in the evening: there is a beauty which remains unappreciated of summers. And not only the weather, but the colors of summer are something worth mentioning. The yellows, reds, whites dominate the summer colors palette alongside with a hint of green and blue, making everything look so vibrant and magical. I like to switch my dresses from floral prints to more bold monochromatic colors or feminine pastels to match the summer vibes.

Summer is the best season to experiment with clothes, and I make sure to leave no stones unturned in that.

For this look, I chose to go monochromatic with a chrome yellow two-piece outfit. Yellow, I feel, is a must have in every girl’s wardrobe. It is quintessentially flamboyant and is sure to make heads turn. So I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to wear an off-shoulder crop top with a matching long skirt. Crop tops aren’t going anywhere this year too, so it pairs well with the breezy long skirt and adds on to the effortless yet feminine vibes.

With this outfit, I decided to accessorize it with a pair of reflective sunglasses. I chose blue reflectors to compliment the beautiful location. The clear summer skies and blue waters look lovely, which inspired me for this entire ensemble. And I love how everything turned out: the ensemble goes perfectly well with the location!

I feel the most important aspect for dressing up in any season, is to match its vibes. I feel summer is all about the casual, laid back yet fiery and sexy vibes.

Hot afternoons and breezy evenings, swim dates and long walks: This is how I define my summer days. How do you define your summers?

Hey Guys! As you all know I love travelling & exploring new places. I am sure you all have seen pictures and stories on my Instagram & Snap chat about my getaways. I get a lot of messages asking where I am staying at and stuff usually when I travel.  Hence this time I decided to blog about my weekend getaway and I will continue doing it.

So we started our journey from Mumbai at around 8:30 in the morning and reached the resort by 1 pm after taking a mandatory halt at MC Donald’s.

The moment we entered the resort we were welcomed by welcome drinks – Kokam Sharbat which was super refreshing. We checked-in in our room and then rushed for lunch as we were starving. They served us delicious authentic Maharashtrian food.

What I loved about the property was the location. You will not find anything distracting your view. It’s located inside a village which makes it different from the rest of properties that are around Nasik surrounded by beautiful mountains and a huge lake. Quiet and peaceful!

In the evening we were offered tea and snacks post which, we went to the Vaitarna Lake which is 10 minutes away from the resort. It’s immensely beautiful and picturesque.

I decided to chill in the pool after coming back. It was calm and relaxing.

The staff members of Jen Jon were really polite and helpful. They arranged for a bonfire after we got done with dinner which was a perfect end to the day.

We couldn’t have asked for more.

There are a lot of outdoor games, bicycles, 80v bike, archery etc. you could try your hands on.

Basically, there’s everything for everyone.

You can definitely plan your weekend at Jen Jon and I am sure you won’t get disappointed.

And I can’t wait to go back!

Hope you liked the blog post.

Have a great weekend 🙂

Mumbai is a city that is not really known for its winters. In fact, it is not known for its winters at all. That’s because there is hardly any winter in the city as the temperature does not drop to a level low enough for it to be truly cold. But somehow its cold in the mornings and evenings, which obviously means you cannot wear your regular clothes during this season.

But you can layer up your regular outfits before stepping out to protect yourself from the chilled breeze.

Since we’re lucky that it’s not that cold here and we don’t have to give up on wearing our skirts, shorts, dresses etc.

I created 5 casual looks that you could try too for the “not so cold days”:

  1. Skater skirt with a warm jumper
  • Skater skirts are my favorite. They look cute yet classy you can wear them with anything and never fail. I wore an over-sized jumper with the skirt with sneakers for a casual look.

2. A vest on a tee with a blazer on top

  • I paired a plain tee with a tube vest and wore a blazer on top as just the tee and the vest worn with a skater skirt won’t protect you much from the cold. Wearing a top on a top may make you feel awkward in the start but trust me it looks great. You could try wearing a blingy tube top on a shirt and accessorize it well for a party wear look.

3. Tube dress with a woolen cape

  • The tube dress is more of a party wear dress if worn without any layer. I teamed up the tube dress with a woolen cape for a rather subtle evening look. You definitely can try something similar for a dinner date since it looks classy and hot ;).

4. Sweater on a shirt

  • Sweaters on shirts have been in trend since a very long time and are not taken that seriously by many of us, since we aren’t sure of how it would look. Sweaters on shirts work amazingly well for a complete office semi-formal look.

5. An over-sized sweatshirt with a mini skirt

  • This is more of a casual outfit that you could try while you’re going out to chill with your friends maybe. I don’t think I need to say much about this outfit all I can say is, this was my most favorite look compared to the rest.

Hope you all liked the post.

Monsoon has arrived in all its glory. The water washing away the dreary summer sun, the pitter-patter on your windowsill, the glorious greens that bloom all over the city – this season is the time for romance. It’s a season for falling in love all over again – with yourself.

Even the colours look fresh and enchanting in the rain. Perhaps because everything looks washed and the smell of the earth is heavenly, adding to the dose of enchantment that monsoon beings with it.

With vivid hues and shades on my mind, I indulged myself with products from India Circus. I bought some bright coloured cushions to laze around on, along with a coffee mug for cosy lie-ins during the rains.

I also got this contemporary bright red printed umbrella to keep me company when I go outside. Apart from having some of the interesting prints on their products, the one thing that caught my eye was how durable they looked. They were not the flimsy, one-time-use sort of products. I am pretty sure they would last me quite some time.

In the humdrum of the daily, it is always fun to try out something new – something out of the box… something quirky. Especially for a fashionista! We are out there to find adventure in the voyage of the tedium called society. So it was a mighty cheer to collaborate with Quirkbox. I have been eyeing their unique style for quite some time now. And well, here we are… 🙂

Roses are red

The soft drape of the shift dress in its glorious pristine white is ‘date’ perfect. It was the perfect ruse to draw out all my femininity because of the French inspired rose embroidery on the front. The vivid colours juxtaposed with the white brighten up any and everything around – the transformation is pure magic. Simplicity is the key to this dress as you need little else to make it stand out. I wore it with nude platform heels from Tedish Paris to keep the look subtle and elegant.

Seamstress’ dream

Quirky prints and an attitude to die for – things you need to be a diva. The print on the shift dress of a vintage sewing machine in black ink put together with cross stitch in pretty floral colours raises the bar in being creative. The way to style the dress was clear to me – add a touch of glam with dark glasses and lace up boots. Just the ideal way of mirroring the pride in knowing who you are and what you are.

Romping the classic with the quirky

A little bit of this and a little bit of that – the Quirk Box sleeveless jacket was perfect for whipping up my chic styling soul. The fun just begins. I paired it up with a black tube prom dress with all its girly frills and added the jacket full of vintage prints to create some fantastic contrasts. It totality it brings out a naughty impish quality in the look. The quirky and bright starry eyed disposition is easy to bring out with compositions like this.

See you super soon :*

Walking tall, feeling sexy, feeling like you can conquer the world – all a woman has to do to get all that in a jiffy is finding the right kind of heels.

A classy pair of
stilettos can take you to reach for the skies.

This pair of bright pink heels from  INTOTO made me feel spectacular.

They don’t just raise my height by a couple of inches, they raise me from the ordinary to being the woman with the confidence of a lioness.

It would have been an abomination to overshadow these stunning heels with more styling. So, I just went for a simple sweatshirt. One can take offence if they want to, but the simple point I want to make is that women don’t need to get all dolled up to look fabulous. A simple pair of stunning footwear would do the trick.

After all, the right heels can change your life. Ask Cinderella. 😉

Until Next Time,

Clothes incite emotions. They can make you feel sexy and can make you feel rebellious. Different fabrics fall differently on your body and a changed silhouette can work wonders. A tiny frill, a big pleat, a bow, a little ribbon, a rip at the right place can make all the difference. You can even alter the look of the same garment by playing around with how it is styled.

This cream top by “All About You From Deepika Padukone” especially is a delight to wear because of its beautiful supple feel.  It’s delicate, drapes naturally and is super comfortable. Juxtaposing it with a pair of ripped jeans; I decided to switch it about a little bit and tucked it at the front for an unpretentious casual look.

Tucking it at the back however, gave the garment a natural flow. The small pinch at the back accentuates the curves of the body in an innate spontaneous way, somewhat mirroring the mood of the collection this has been picked out of from – romantic and flowy.

I love wearing white. For me, white is the color that can work for both day and night. I don’t always follow the trend; I wear what I like (you must have noticed it by now?).

I wore a cut out crop top with white jeggings. I like wearing jeggings as they make you look slimmer, and you don’t have to squeeze, button and zip them up to wear.

I tried this super cool watch from Joker & Witch which has gold detailing on the turquoise blue silicon strap to add a pop of color to the entire look. I love mixing gold with other colors, my pants also have gold detailing at the waist, which is why I picked them up.

I teamed this entire outfit with minimal makeup and gold heels, for a classy yet subtle look.

Hope you guys liked the post.

Until Next Time
